Here are a selection of this term’s regular events which are ran alongside with the College Block Tutors.
Wednesday evenings, at 8pm (before toasties) are a Goodricke vs. Langwith Games Nights in the GCR from 8pm with our college tutors, Tom and Laura. We have a selection of games (some new, recently added ones too), including giant Jenga, Connect 4, Monopoly, Chess, Draughts, Dominion and many more. So if you are looking for some like-minded people and friendly competition, or you want to learn the rules of a new game (or even bring along a game of your own and try find some players), then join Tom and Laura in the GCR from 8pm.
Free toasties are available to residents every Wednesday night (10:30pm – 3am) in the GCR, supplied by the Goodricke College Christian Union.
Cakes, biscuits, coffee and tea await you at this lovely uplifting college event. Just come down and have a chat with the Welfare team or take a break from that essay. The kind of cakes and biscuits usually vary, as they’re bought freshly for your consumption every week. Fresh coffee and tea are brewed on the spot. This event is always incredibly packed, and has a relaxed, social atmosphere. On a side note, the cakes always disappear very quickly.
Every Friday afternoon, from 1:45pm to 2:45pm sees the GCR transformed into the perfect place to pick up a free jacket potato and some toppings to compliment the potatoes. Whether you are planning to sit and dine in or to take your potato on the go, we are always really pleased to see you and to add that little something extra to your day. Toppings usually include cheese, coleslaw, fresh salad and cucumber, tuna-mayo, baked-beans and very buttery butter. Music is provided and so are the potatoes, naturally.
