Each college holds a volunteering challenge once a term where they try to get as many students involved as they can. In spring term 2011 Goodricke students participated in an eco-active day at St Nicholas Fields Nature Reserve. In summer term 2011 students assisted the grounds men on the Heslington East campus in planting marginal and aquatic plants around the Hub.
The college gains once point for each student who participates in each volunteering event, and these points count towards the college volunteering cup which is awarded to one college at the end of the summer term.
