Jane Clarbour is responsible for keeping all of the college happy and to ensure they are enjoying university life. This is done through getting to know as many members of the College as possible, so she is always pleased for you to get in contact with her via the College Administrator to discuss any serious problems you may be having.
Jane has been with Goodricke for many years now and has been instrumental in making it into the friendly, sociable and caring college it is today. She is always happy to have a chat so just say hello when you see her around!
Jane can be contacted by email at jane.clarbour@york.ac.uk. You may also arrange an appointment with her through the College Administrator.

Jon Fanning is the Deputy Provost of Goodricke. Although his official duties involve covering for the Provost in her absence, he can often be seen around the College and is happy to chat to anybody about anything at anytime.
When working he can be found in the Management School (adjacent to Goodricke College), where he is the Teaching Fellow in Strategy, Skills and Employability. Interests include anything geeky or related to general sciences, astronomy, country walking and occasional rock climbing.
Jon can be contacted by email on jonathan.fanning@york.ac.uk.

The Dean, Paul Summers, supports the Provost in matters relating to the discipline and welfare of college members. Paul works closely with a team of four resident Tutors, who have been selected for their approachability and personal skills. Like the Provost, Paul is keen to get to know as many members of college as he can and will often visit corridors/kitchens in all three courts to ensure that residents are happy (and to make sure your kitchens aren’t a disgrace!). He also holds weekly poker sessions in the GCR so go along and give him some much needed tips!
Paul can be contacted by email on paul.summers@york.ac.uk. Alternatively, he can be reached at the Dean’s flat: Flat 44, Dame Janet Baker Court (telephone 714200).

The College Administrator is personal assistant to the Provost; her duties include compiling the weekly newsletter each Friday.
This is sent by e mail to all students and contains information about all the activities taking place in College. It also contains messages from our Dean, Tutors, cleaning staff, porters and JCR representatives. If you want to know exactly what is going on in College, this is what you should be reading each week. The College Administrator is also responsible for the allocation of student accommodation, maintaining of student records, attending to the administrative requirements of College Council and taking bookings for the General Common Room. You may contact the Administrator about any queries or concerns about your accommodation that you may have during your time here.
Sarah can be contacted by email on sarah.hay@york.ac.uk or by telephone on (44) 1904 325113.
Porters provide 24-hour cover at the Ron Cook Hub. They have a central role in College life and can help with a range of immediate difficulties such as lost keys, maintenance problems and general security. If they can’t help, they will refer you to someone who can. Porters are a first point of contact for out-of-hours emergenices, and are first aid trained.
In addition, porters hold parcels for your collection and ensure that buildings are secure. If there is anything you wish to report, they hold an incident and accident book at the Hub and also have a maintenance book so you can notify failure of equipment.
The porters can be contacted in person at the Ron Cook Hub, by phone on 01904 325100 or by email: admn695@york.ac.uk. In their absence there is an emergency phone available at Reception. This connects directly to the University’s central security office, which will be able to locate the nearest porter or provide assistance directly.
It is essential that you log incidents or equipment failures with the porters. These incidents are put on the University computer system and the problem will be sorted as soon as possible. However, if you feel you have been waiting too long, please contact the Facilities Manager (email: mandy.mckechnie@york.ac.uk).
